Making Gold with Twink Enchants: Enchant Weapon – Agility

A recent post on the Greedy Goblin about “twink enchants” peaked my curiosity about a potential gold-making opportunity. The article discusses twinks, the various old world enchants, and why twinks would want them. But how much will twinks pay for these enchants and what is the cost involved? The complete breakdown after the break.

Enchant Weapon – Agility

This enchant adds +15 agility to any weapon and requires your to be honored with the Timbermaw Hold in order to gain access to the recipe. As an enchanter, you’ll need to enchant a Weapon Vellum in order to produce the Scroll of Enchant Weapon – Agility.

The enchant requires four Large Brilliant Shards and four Essences of Air. The shards should be about 2-3 gold each, and the Essence of Air about 1.75 gold each. This adds up to about 19 gold worth of enchanting materials.

Weapon Vellum

An Inscriptionist can craft Weapon Vellums with three Midnight Inks and two Light Parchments. A single Midnight Ink can be produced from two Dusky Pigments.

2x Weapon Vellum = 3x Midnight Ink (= 6x Dusky Pigment) + 2x Light Parchment

Weapon Vellum should sell for about 1 gold each. However, it may be in short supply on your server so you’ll need to check the price of herbs, Dusky Pigment, or the Midnight Ink (see below) instead.

Midnight Ink

Milling Bruiseweed, Swiftthistle, Briarthorn, Stranglekelp, and Mageroyal will yield at least one Dusky Pigment. Bruiseweed is the cheapest of the five herbs. Assuming two Dusky Pigments per milling attempt, you’ll need three stacks of five Bruiseweed. This equates to a cost of 5.85 gold for three Midnight Inks (1.95 gold each).

Midnight Ink itself sells for 1.2 gold each, so it may be cheaper for you to buy it directly.

Summary

Raw materials cost:

  • 5.85 gold (herbs) OR 3.6 gold (ink) + 19 gold (enchanting mats) = 22.6 ~ 24.85 gold

Due to a lack of volume, it’s difficult to tell how much the Scroll of Enchant Weapon – Agility sells for, but here are a few sources:

  • Wowhead: 90 gold
  • wowecon: 177 gold
  • Allakhazam: 200 gold

This is definitely a very profitable enchant, yielding anywhere from 65 gold to 175 gold depending on your market.
