I have tried to do this a few times — usually I end up getting sick of it by Outland though. But it’s really good fun to try for a while.

As an alternative to speed-increasing heirlooms for good gear, you can try crafting your character stuff from your other toons. I have found this to be a ton of fun … but then I’ve always liked crafting, so it may not be for everyone.

  2. Molsan says:

I’m afraid of getting tired of it as well, especially when I venture into zones where the quests are all gray. I guess what I ultimately want is the freedom to do what I want, when I want. I put too much pressure on myself to gear out a character as much as possible when I hit max-level.

  3. Grimm says:

Welcome to the Grimm method of leveling a toon! My zone progression went something to the effect of: Mulgor, Barrens, parts of Stonetalon and Ashenvale, Durotar, Tirisfal, Silverpine, Eversong, Ghostlands, etc. This was all before there was any notion of Loremaster. As you can imagine, a level 20-30 running around Agamand Mills and the Dead Scar got lots of quizzical whispers at that time. But I got Ambassador at the launch of achievements to show for it, and have had the Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms portion of Loremaster done for some time now. Good luck with it!

Part of me thinks I should just do the lowbie quests with Molsan instead. I’ve already completed the Undead starter zone though… I did that back when I needed to squeeze some faction rep for the Argent Tournament.
