I thought the term “welfare epics” referred to epics you can buy with just honor (I’m thinking Hateful Gladiator gear).

In any case, gear is in constant need of upgrading. BiS today is junk tomorrow (ok…not really junk but you get what I’m saying). I don’t become that attached to my gear. I just kind of get saddened that I have to go out and buy expensive enchants for new pieces I obtain.

And like I posted in my comment on Pike’s site, the Conqueror’s gear (and it’s ilvl equivalents) is already beginning to turn obsolete. ilvl258(?) is where it’s at now. Unfortunately, most casual players (myself included) won’t be getting their hands on those anytime soon.

@Pike I enjoyed your post and it stirred about feelings about how the game has changed over the years.

After reading your post this morning, I told a co-worker the story of Quel’Serrar… it’s too bad that items like that don’t exist in today’s game. I miss those stories!

Hello friend, thank you for your response to my post. I feel I have to clarify a bit though. First of all, I am not going to say “no” to an upgrade, I’m just putting it off a bit. And contrary to popular belief, I am in fact very fond of badge epics and am enjoying collecting them across several of my characters ^_^

Secondly, I too dislike the term welfare epics, hence why I was putting it in quotes.

Lastly I hope you didn’t take my post entirely too seriously! I write a lot of posts with tongue in cheek a bit– I do write from my heart, but I exaggerate it a bit, if that makes sense.

Well, that’ll do it. Keep having fun in game ^_^
